The Program
Hans Bethe House
The Hans Bethe House is the third of five houses to open as part of the Residential Initiative at Cornell University. The house system aims to enhance the undergraduate experience by fostering smaller communities and by creating casual learning opportunities integrating living and learning in one environment.
The program has many benefits, including:
- Live-in House Professor and Dean, professional staff and graduate resident fellows to mentor and support students.
- Thirty-three house fellows, primarily faculty members, who will affiliate with each house.
- A strong in-house governance structure that promotes student leadership and involvement.
- Diverse program offerings responding to student interests. These may include film series, in-house performances, seminars, advising and career-counseling services, and dining discussion groups.
