Stephanie Whitehouse Stephanie Whitehouse
Department of Crop & Soil Sciences

Stephanie is a second year MS student in Crop & Soil Science and a part of the Weed Ecology Research Group where she is researching the impacts of different soil management strategies and plant pathogens on weed community diversity. Although she was born in Cleveland, OH, and hence has a great love for rock n’ roll and dancing, she has spent most of her life in Skaneateles, NY where she spent summers sailing on the “pinky” of the Finger Lakes and attending Girl Scout camp. In 2002 Stephanie came to Cornell to earn her BS in Plant Sciences, and worked as an RA for 3 years in the Lowrise and Collegetown complexes. During her undergrad years she found a love for Cornell’s traditions, Ithacan summers, and Ithaca’s plethora of restaurants. In Fall of 2006 she stayed at Cornell to continue as a fourth year RA and started her Masters degree. She also has studied in Mexico for a winter semester and has a strong interest in agriculture development in developing nations.

If not out in the field with the weeds or in Bethe House socializing with her residents, Stephanie can be found at Cornell hockey games, discussing politics and global warming over a cup of Starbuck’s, sailing on Cayuga Lake, gardening at the Horticulture Test Gardens for fun, or attending music concerts. Her door is always open to chat or catch an episode of Project Runway, House, or Lost, so stop on by!
