Cindy Hazan 126 Carl Becker House
Cindy Hazan joined the Department of Human Development at Cornell in 1988 after receiving her PhD in Social and Personality Psychology from the University of Denver. Her research on human mating and pair-bonding processes has been featured in documentary films and science news articles around the world and is among the most cited work in her field. She teaches courses in the areas of personality theory and interpersonal relationships and has been honored with numerous teaching and advising awards at Cornell. Professor Hazan grew up in a sleepy Midwestern town and, at 18, escaped to Europe where she spent three wonderful years studying, traveling, and developing a taste for good food and film. Her son, Adel (aka DJ Manic), just completed a B.S. in Music at the University of Colorado and recently relocated to Berkeley, California, where he has helped found a non-profit organization to teach hip hop music techniques to indigent youth. Joining Professor Hazan in Becker House is her husband, Rick (aka Becker House Fellow Canfield), and their two cats, Sophie and Winnie.
