Lauryn Daniel 303 Boldt Tower
253-2411
Lauryn is a junior in the College of Human Ecology, majoring in Human Development. She’s from Atlanta, Georgia and during the Ithaca winters, she likes to reminisce about sunny days and blooming flowers to help stay warm. Her interests include marine biology, playing volleyball, yoga, reading fiction, and walking around Beebe Lake, if anyone wants to join her!
Lauryn is a member of Alpha Phi Omega (a co-ed service fraternity), and Women in Science at Cornell (WISC). This summer she spent three weeks at the Shoals Marine Lab, a Cornell Extension in Maine, studying marine invertebrates.
Lauryn is excited about returning to Alice Cook for another year and getting to know all the new residents!
Michelle Sun 207 Alice Cook House
253-7138
Michelle is currently a junior and wavering a bit on her major still, but has a feeling she will end up as a physics major with a biology concentration. As you can tell, she can be extremely indecisive about certain things, but she likes to think it's only because she can't decide what things she likes most. She enjoys Cornell, especially her classes, but she knows her true home is in sunny California where there are imported palm trees but always authentic sunshine. She loves to paint, scrapbook, bake cakes, and eat yummy food. At Cornell, she is involved with the Cornell Daily Sun and Cornell Outdoor Education. This past summer she enjoyed doing research on developing a method of DNA amplification in a flexible pouch-based system for use in point-of-care devices and hopes to continue researching during the school year. She is really excited to get to know Alice Cook residents and hopes that they enjoy and get involved with the House system!
