Cornell has a variety of living and learning communities that are ideal for undergraduate students transferring from other colleges and universities.
Transfer students are in a unique position at Cornell: they benefit from the same orientation programs as do incoming first-year students, but their age and experience are more similar to those of upperlevel students.
To help these new residents transition into Cornell's upperlevel community, most transfer students are housed together in groups in the West Campus House System or in upperlevel residence halls with other sophomores, juniors, and seniors.* For a different kind of living experience, transfer students may also choose to live in a Program House or in one of Cornell's eight co-ops.
Use the links to your right to decide which residential experience is best for you.
Click on "Apply for Housing" in the left-hand menu bar for more information about applying for on-campus housing.
Remember, on-campus housing is guaranteed to all transfer students who meet our application deadlines. Every effort is made to accommodate your housing preferences.
