Transfer students are in a unique position at Cornell: you benefit from the same orientation programs as incoming first-year students, while your age and experience are more similar to those of Cornell's upperlevel students.

To help your transition into Cornell's upperlevel community, most transfer students are housed together in groups in upperlevel residence halls, or in one of the West Campus Houses for upperlevel students*.  Other transfer students choose to live in a Program House (a themed residence hall) or in co-op among students of all ages.

Click on the Living at Cornell icon above to learn more about life on campus.  Use the Transfer Housing links to your right to read more about the individual communities.

2012-2013 housing

Apply for housing: Accepted students may apply for housing beginning March 29, 2012 at 5:00pm. Apply within 30 days of the offer of admission, or by July 1, 2012, whichever comes first.  On-campus housing is guaranteed for all incoming transfer students who meet the application deadline.

Virtual building tours: View 360-degree panoramas of room types and common areas in each of our residence halls and Program Houses by visiting Transfer Student Residence Halls or Program Houses and clicking through to the individual community pages.
