Cornell’s residence halls offer first-year students the traditional college living experience within a diverse, multicultural community of friends and neighbors. You’ll form an immediate bond with students on your hall through group activities and events, and will get hands-on guidance from your live-in Residence Hall Director while you learn about the many opportunities available to you at Cornell.
Singles, doubles, triples, and quads are available in most residence halls. Each hall has shared bathrooms, laundry facilities, kitchenettes, and common areas, plus Internet access, basic campus phone service, and optional cable television (with an additional charge).
If you want to live in Balch Hall (for first-year women only) or the Townhouse Community, you may request a specific building. If you prefer to live in any of the other residence halls on north campus, your building and room will be assigned to you. Use the links to your right to read more about the residence halls available for first-year students.
