Frequently Asked Questions

Where is Ithaca?   Ithaca is almost equidistant in drive time (a little over four hours) from New York City, Philadelphia, and Toronto, about an hour north of Binghamton and south of Syracuse.  Ithaca Tompkins Regional Airport is served by national carriers.  More extensive service is available through Syracuse via airport limo.

Can you arrange specialty commemorative items
You name it.  We can get specially etched wine glasses, souvenir shirts, any memento you might want.

What should participants pack?
  • Field binoculars and a camera (the glacial scenery is breathtaking)
  • Hiking boots (or at least a pair of comfortable walking shoes)
  • A bathing suit (especially if you have never swum in a glacial lake or under a waterfall)
  • At least one sweater or light jacket (even in summer, evenings are comfortably cool)
  • Casual attire (the fanciest restaurants do not require jackets and ties)
  • An umbrella (meteorologist call Ithaca no wetter than most places, but Cornell students swear they are wrong)
  • An alarm clock
